Sound
Audio Technica AT4040
I use this for voice over and various reed and wind instruments.
Audio Technica AT2020
I use this for string and string precussion instruments.
Sennheiser MKE-440
This is my portable go-to for on the go stationary and handheld video including instruments and voice.
RadioShack PZM
I use this as a room mic when needed, and as a base mic to my melodeon.
Lavalier
I use this where my Oppo Find X5 Pro would be unsightly. Other uses include recording sound effects.
Oppo Find X5 Pro
This phone's dual-microphone system is superb for specific use cases in stereo recording in environments with higher frequencies, and is malleable.
Canon R6 Mark: 2
The internal camera system is easily usable, but is particular in when and where its sweet spot is. Use beside the Oppo gets adequate audio quality where I don't have access to dedicated equipment.
Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD
This is my main interface. It has everything I need and meets my requirements for quality and specification.
Beyerdynamic DT-880 32Ω
Beyerdynamic are infamous for their wide sound staging and critical reproduction. I use these headphones for everything and go wherever I go. They allow me to accurately identify mixing issues and hear variances in recorded/exported quality. The DT-880 is the neautral model for studio mixing/mastering.
Audio Technica ATH-M40x
These are my previous headphones, now in retirement having used them until they broke. I now bring them out due to their smaller packing footprint.
Audio Technica's headphones are known for their narrow, central sound staging providing a better representation of how voice-over and compressed sound staging may sound on a broader range of loud speakers, car stereo systems and earbuds/headphones made for audio consumption. The M40x is their neautral model for mixing/mastering.
